[ST. PAUL, MN] – Joined by representatives from Minnesota labor unions, Governor Tim Walz kicked off a statewide tour today to highlight proposed infrastructure projects ahead of the 2024 legislative session. The Governor will tour proposed infrastructure projects ahead of his capital investment proposal for the 2024 legislative session.
“Whether that's roads and bridges, clean water infrastructure, or investments in modernizing our state’s higher education, a strong infrastructure plan creates jobs while helping ensure every community across Minnesota prospers,” said Governor Walz. “I look forward to hearing directly from Minnesotans about the local infrastructure projects that matter most to them.”
“Capital investment bills like the one Governor Walz signed in June provide crucial funding to keep critical infrastructure safe,” said Minnesota Management and Budget Commissioner Erin Campbell. “We have a historic opportunity to invest now in projects that maintain and improve state assets and will benefit Minnesota for years to come.”
In June, Governor Walz signed the state’s largest-ever infrastructure bill into law. The $2.6 billion package invests in construction and renovation projects across the state, creating thousands of good-paying jobs for Minnesotans and bringing long-term benefits to communities across the state. Since then, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan have visited local projects across the state, from Thief River Falls and Moorhead to Chisholm and Winona .
