Investing in Communities

The Minnesota Public Facilities Authority (MPFA) provides financing and technical assistance to help communities build public infrastructure that protects public health and the environment and promotes economic growth.

The MPFA administers and oversees the financial management of three revolving loan funds and other programs that help local units of government construct facilities for clean water, drinking water, and transportation infrastructure projects.

Comment Period for 2027 Clean Water and Drinking Water Intended Use Plans (IUPs)

The comment period for the draft 2027 Clean Water and Drinking Water IUPs is open from October 1, 2026, through October 23, 2026. View the draft IUPs on the MPFA website under the Clean Water and Drinking Water tabs. Submit questions and IUP-specific comments via email to MPFA at mn.pfa@state.mn.us.

Important Notice

To maintain a consistent workflow and ensure the timely delivery of funds to our recipients, the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority (MPFA) is updating the disbursement request process.

Effective immediately, disbursement requests will now be due by the 12th of each month, rather than the 15th. Moving the deadline forward will provide additional processing time and help us continue delivering consistent, timely service.
