Non-Depository Financial Institutions
The Minnesota Department of Commerce regulates a wide range of non-depository financial institutions.
The Department’s oversight includes licensing, supervision and enforcement for non-depository financial institutions in three main areas: (1) mortgage origination and servicing, (2) money services businesses, and (3) various consumer finance companies that include student loans. Additionally, the Department is also the agency for non-depository financial institutions to report a cybersecurity event.
