- Minnesota Rule 3100.6300 is a Board of Dentistry Administrative Rule and highlights safety and sanitary requirements for dental office and references required compliance with the CDC Guidelines for Infection Control in Dental Healthcare Settings.
- Minnesota Rule 6950 is a Health Licensing Board Administrative Rule and goes further in depth regarding some of the elements of infection control requirements in healthcare settings.
- Dental employers are also subject to the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard, which applies to all workers with potential for exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials.
- Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry has resources available including Bloodborne Pathogens in Dentistry.
Reporting Infection Control Concerns
If you feel that your concern regarding infection control has not been adequately addressed by a dental licensee or that public health and safety is being compromised, you are welcome to file a formal complaint with the Board of Dentistry.
