• All applicants for Minnesota dental licensure are tested on the same subject matter. The same exam is used for dental, dental therapy, dental hygiene, and dental assistant applicants. It is important that examinees study all the statutes and rules, not just those pertaining to their
scope of practice.
Missed Exams
If you miss your appointment, you will not be able to take the exam as scheduled. You will forfeit your examination fee if you:
•Do not cancel your appointment two days before the scheduled examination date;
•Do not appear for your examination appointment;
•Arrive after examination start time;
•Do not present proper identification when you arrive for the examination
Retaking a Failed Exam
Due to processing and reporting, you cannot make a new examination appointment on the same day that you have taken an examination. A candidate who tests unsuccessfully on a Wednesday can call and retest as soon as Friday, depending upon availability.
