    Rulemaking

    Under Minnesota Statutes Section 13.07, the Commissioner of Administration shall promulgate rules to implement the enforcement and administration of the Data Practices Act. These administrative rules, Minnesota Rules Chapter 1205, were last adopted in 1981. 

    The Data Practices Office is working to update these rules to better support the current language and requirements of the Data Practices Act, and we have more information about this process on our YouTube channel. In the coming months this page will contain updates about the rulemaking process, proposed updates, and ways to share your input. You may also provide feedback by emailing our office.
