Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) has approved the FY16 rates for IT services provided by the Office of MN.IT Services. These rates are effective August 1, 2015.
Over the past five years, MN.IT’s rates remained stable with only slight rate increases in some services for our customers and some rates even decreased. State regulations require an annual comparison of the expenditures and revenue generated by each service billed and an adjustment for differences between the revenue and the allowable costs. Forecasting for FY16 showed that MN.IT was unable to meet the State regulation for a break-even rate to recover the estimated cost of providing the service.
As a result, agencies will see rate increases in most VOICE, WAN and Computing Services. The collaboration contribution from all of our partners has not changed and remains the same for FY16. The rate changes are a result of increasing costs and service delivery that is necessary to meet our customer’s information technology needs and remain cost neutral.
Rate increases are unfortunate but necessary to meet the information technology (IT) needs and priorities of state government. IT is an essential part of government’s day-to-day operations. Without data, communications and transactions, the State cannot meet its mission. The mission to provide a high-quality secure and cost-effective information technology that meets the business needs of government, fosters innovation and improves outcomes for the people of Minnesota remains intact.
Our mission to serve your organization remains - to provide high-quality, secure and cost-effective information technology services that meet the business needs of government, fosters innovation and improves outcomes for the people of Minnesota. MN.IT appreciates your business and looks forward to your continued partnership.
