[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz today signed a bill into law that amends the medical exception to Minnesota’s vehicle window tint restriction.

Currently, individuals with medical conditions requiring tinted vehicle windows are required to have a medical prescription from a doctor renewed every two years to qualify for an exemption to the window tinting requirements. However, there are some medical conditions that require additional tinting that are inherently permanent.

Senate File 1075 allows a doctor to designate the condition as permanent, issue a prescription without an expiration date, and relieve the need to obtain new documentation in the future.
