[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz today issued a writ of special election to fill a vacancy in Senate District 45 in Hennepin County following the resignation of Senator Kelly Morrison.

A special election to fill the vacancy will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. If necessary, a special primary election for nomination of candidates will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Affidavits of candidacy and nominating petitions may be filed with the Secretary of State or the county auditor of Hennepin County from Monday, June 10, 2024, until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
