[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan today announced the following appointments to the Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training; Governor's Advisory Council on Opioids, Substance Use, and Addiction; Governor’s Council on Connected and Automated Vehicles; and State Board of Appellate Counsel and Training.

The council also examines services, supports, and needs and provides opportunities for Minnesotans who have experienced addiction.

The Governor’s Council on Connected and Automated Vehicles reviews developments in connected and automated vehicle technology and intelligent and emerging transportation technology, explores partnership opportunities to remain prepared for the widespread adoption of new technologies, and proposes policies to safely test and deploy connected and automated vehicles.

About the State Board of Appellate Counsel and Training:
Created by legislation in 2023, the State Board of Appellate Counsel and Training was established to direct the Statewide Office of Appellate Counsel and Training which serves parents and children in the child legal welfare system. The board will work with the head appellate counsel to govern the office and provide fiscal oversight.
