Governor Walz, Lt. Governor Flanagan Announce Appointments

[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan today announced the following appointments to the Advisory Council on Workers’ Compensation, Minnesota Assistive Technology Advisory Council, Minnesota Environmental Quality Board, and State Guardian Ad Litem Board.

About the Minnesota Assistive Technology Advisory Council:
The Minnesota Assistive Technology Advisory Council provides the Minnesota STAR Program with consumer-responsive, consumer-driven advice for planning, implementing, and evaluating assistive technology activities. The STAR Program’s mission is to help all Minnesotans with disabilities gain access to and acquire the assistive technology they need to live, learn, work, and play.

About the Minnesota Environmental Quality Board:
The Minnesota Environmental Quality Board includes the heads of nine state agencies and public board members from around the state. The board provides leadership and coordination across state agencies on priority environmental issues, serves as a locus for public engagement, and oversees the state’s Environmental Review program. The board carries out a diverse range of projects aimed at shaping environmental policy and programs and engaging Minnesotans.

About the State Guardian Ad Litem Board:
The State Guardian Ad Litem Board creates and administers a statewide independent guardian ad litem program to advocate for the best interests of children, minor parents, and incompetent adults in juvenile and family court cases; approves and recommends to the Legislature a budget for the board and the guardian ad litem program; and establishes guardian ad litem program standards, administrative policies, procedures, and rules.
