[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz today signed two bills into law, which extend the waiver on in-person marriage applications and hold 2021 unemployment insurance experience ratings constant.
“The last 10 months have been some of the most challenging our small businesses have ever experienced as they made sacrifices to protect their communities,” said Governor Walz. “Modifying their tax rate and ensuring they won’t be penalized for those hard choices is one small but important way we can support our businesses and protect them from the impacts of COVID-19.”

This bill holds 2021 unemployment insurance experience ratings constant, ensuring businesses aren’t penalized for 2020 layoffs.
