[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan today announced the reappointment of Aaron Vande Linde as the School Trust Lands Director for a term expiring on December 31, 2024. Vande Linde has served in this role since 2015. His previous experience includes serving as the School Trust Lands Administrator and as a transactions manager with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Vande Linde received his B.A. from Old Dominion University and his J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law.

“It’s my honor to reappoint Aaron Vande Linde as School Trust Lands Director,” said Governor Walz. “Minnesotans believe in strong public education, and the careful management of School Trust Lands helps to ensure that Minnesota schools and students are supported by sustainable, forward-looking investments.”

The Office of School Trust Lands strives to optimize school trust benefits for every generation of public school students. The core functions of the Office include working in conjunction with the Permanent School Fund Commission on legislation to improve school trust assets, developing long range strategic plans to ensure school trust resources are optimally managed for current and future beneficiaries, and advising the Governor, Executive Council, and Commissioner of Natural Resources on school trust management activities.
