Governor Walz, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Announce Appointments

[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan today announced the following appointments to the Governor’s Task Force on Broadband, the Public Employment Relations Board, the Minnesota State High School League, the Governor’s Council on the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, and the Advisory Council on Interstate Adult Offender Supervision.

Governor’s Task Force on Broadband

Replacing: Shannon Heim

About the Governor’s Task Force on Broadband:

The Governor’s Task Force on Broadband is a multi-stakeholder group that represents the various types of broadband users (residential, business, education, healthcare, labor, tribal, local government) and providers (telephone, cable, and cellular companies). Working together, the Task Force advises the Governor and the Legislature on broadband policy, including: strategies for achieving the State’s broadband goals, an assessment of digital inclusion issues and gaps and mechanisms to address them, and strategies to bring the benefits of universal access to broadband to all communities in Minnesota.

About the Governor’s Council on the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday:

The council, chaired by Minnesota Department of Human Rights Commissioner Rebecca Lucero, meets to help guide efforts, provide insight and knowledge, and assist the Office of the Governor in hosting a celebration in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The celebration for 2021 will be virtual and more news will come from the council on how Minnesota will honor the legacy of Dr. King.

The Advisory Council on Interstate Adult Offender Supervision oversees and administers the state's participation in the Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision. The Council’s duties include appointing the compact administrator as the state's commissioner to the Interstate Commission and developing a model policy concerning the operations and procedures of the compact within the state.
