[ST. PAUL, MN] – Today, the National Foundation for Governors’ Fitness Councils (NFGFC) announced the names of three Minnesota schools that were selected to receive a DON’T QUIT! ™ fitness center. Greenway Public School in Coleraine, E-STEM Middle School in Woodbury, and Breckenridge Elementary School in Breckenridge have been named the state’s most outstanding schools for demonstrating leadership in getting and keeping their students fit and will be receiving brand-new fitness centers from the NFGFC program.

“I am exceptionally proud of the students and educators in Coleraine, Woodbury, and Breckenridge for making fitness a priority,” said Governor Walz. “As a former football coach, I believe strongly that physical activity helps our students learn and grow in a myriad of ways, whether on the field, in the gym, or in the classroom.”

“Congratulations to Greenway Public School, E-STEM Middle School, and Breckenridge Elementary School for this outstanding recognition,” said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan. “Our schools are at their best when they teach the whole child, and physical health is a crucial part of that.”

The DON’T QUIT! Fitness Centers will be unveiled during ribbon cutting ceremonies this fall. For more information about the National Foundation, visit www.natgovfit.org.
