[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz today signed Chapter 43, HF 4165 into law to condemn Russian aggression against Ukraine and support the people of Ukraine by requiring that the state end its investments in Russia and Belarus and refrain from doing businesses with entities from those countries.
“Today, I was proud to sign this bipartisan bill into law to help ensure that our state does not aid the Russian government’s illegal aggression against Ukraine,” said Governor Walz. “Ukrainians are our friends, family, and neighbors and we continue to stand firmly with our Ukrainian community here in Minnesota and abroad.”
In March, Governor Walz signed Executive Order 22-03 , which required that state agencies terminate existing contracts with Russian entities and refrain from entering into future contracts with Russian entities. Since HF 4164 codifies Executive Order 22-03 into law, the Governor today rescinded that Executive Order as no longer necessary.
