[ST. PAUL, MN] – In accordance with a proclamation issued by President Joe Biden, Governor Tim Walz has ordered all United States and Minnesota flags to be flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings in the State of Minnesota from midnight tonight, Friday, October 15, 2021, and through Saturday, October 16, 2021, in honor of the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service being held in Washington D.C.
“The President of the United States of America has ordered that the flags be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, October 16, 2021, in honor of the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service being held in Washington D.C,” reads the proclamation issued by Governor Walz. “We remember and pay respect to law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty and their families.”
Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are also encouraged to join in lowering their flags.
