About the Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board:

The Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board serves as the official zoning authority for the area surrounding the State Capitol, and also has authority for design reviews and approval for State buildings, memorials, artwork in and around the area and other physical improvements in the Capitol area.

The Committee receives proposals from Minnesota artists, art organizations, and other individuals, and prepares a list of recommendations for consideration by the Commission.
