License: 

Any permit, registration, certification, credential or other form of approval granted by the 46 state licensing agencies and boards as a condition of doing business: conducting a trade, profession or occupation, or pursuing a recreational activity in Minnesota. This includes equipment and vehicles and the right to operate them. We have chosen to include information on a limited number of licenses and permits issued by local government where state rules may apply or the information is frequently requested through this site .

State Agency:

Any government unit, state department, commission, council, board or office that issues licenses as defined above. This includes very limited amount of information concerning local government license issuing authorities.
