Review Continuing Education for Assessors

Course Approval Requests

To request approval for an assessment- or appraisal-related course or seminar, a person must submit a course approval request to the Minnesota State Board of Assessors.   

  • Licensed assessors must submit the form in the Assessor Licensing System. The request must include a course outline, description, and the anticipated timeline for
    each topic.

  • Sponsoring Organizations must submit the Request Form for Course Approval. The request must include a course outline, description, and the anticipated timeline for each topic.
  1. Course/Seminar must apply to assessors in general and not to a specific CAMA/tax system or taxing jurisdiction.
  2. Course/Seminar must be available and marketed to an entire region, at minimum.

  • Submit requests at least 60 days before course/seminar attendance date to ensure the board can act on the request before the course/seminar is attended.

    Note: When developing an online course, use the board's Online Course Development Checklist. This will help ensure a course will meet the board's expectations for the quality of online courses that meet the needs of assessor certification or continuing education. 

    Note: If you an assessor attended a course or seminar that's on the board-approved list, upload the completion certificate to their education records on the Assessor Licensing System.
