Permits are required to use a cast net to harvest gizzard shad from infested waters. These permits allow harvest in Minnesota portions of the Mississippi River downstream of St. Anthony Falls, and the St. Croix River downstream of the dam at Taylor’s Falls from July 1 – November 30.
