Requirements:

An organized or scheduled short term activity taking place on forest roads managed by the Department's Forestry Division, which offers recreational or educational opportunities not normally available on these roads; or which necessitates a significant disruption of routine activities; or where an activity is occurring that is not normally allowed.

Bond requirement:
 
Most permits will require a performance bond which will be returned if terms of the permit are met. Bond amounts will vary; check with the local office issuing the permits.

The DNR will not issue any permits for events where intoxicating liquor is being served. 

Special events involving off-highway vehicles are restricted to using recreational trails per Minn. Stat. § 84.915 and Minn. Stats. § 89.025 

Permittees must provide liability insurance per the provisions of the State Tort Claims Act, Minn. Stat. § 3.736
