Application fee for each lease - $100

For leases issued through public lease sale or from the preference rights list, the application must also include rental payment for a full calendar year. The leases specify rental and royalty payments.


Period of Issuance:

Up to 50 years.


Length of Determination: The process of negotiating a lease or obtaining a lease from the preference rights list will take several months, including the approval of the State Executive Council The plans for a public lease sale are announced at least 90 days before the bid opening, and the awarding of leases to the high bidders will usually be approved within three months by the State Executive Council.
