Facilities in Minnesota with ionizing-radiation producing x-ray equipment must be registered with the Minnesota Department of Health, Radiation Control, X-ray Unit. X-ray fees cover the costs of running a statewide registration, compliance and education program, as well as to maintain and protect the health and safety of occupational workers and the general public.
Review:
Minn. Stat. § 144.121, subd. 1, states, the fee for the registration for x-ray machines and other sources of ionizing radiation required to be registered under rules adopted by the state commissioner of health pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 144.12, shall be in an amount as described in subdivision 1a pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 144.122. The registration shall expire and be renewed as prescribed by the commissioner pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 144.122.
Minn. Stat. § 144.121, subd. 1a, states, fees for ionizing radiation-producing equipment. (a) A facility with ionizing radiation-producing equipment must pay an annual initial or annual renewal registration fee consisting of a base facility fee of $100 and an additional fee for each radiation source, as follows:

Registration must be renewed annually and with each acquired piece of x-ray equipment.
