A permit authorizing storage of natural gas in a gaseous state in naturally occurring underground rock reservoirs deep below the land surface. Such reservoirs normally contain ground water which is displaced by injected gas.  

A permit authorizing storage of liquids such as propane in excavated caverns in impervious rock formations

There is a $30 permit application fee, also the applicant or permittee shall pay the actual costs of field inspections and monitoring as indicated in Minn. Rules 6115.0130

Length of Determination: This permit requires a hearing process, see Minn. Stat. § 103I.681, subd. 3. The length of which will depend on the completeness of technical data and feasibility study.
