Detailed Order
The Iowa Board of Podiatry issued a Notice of Hearing and Statement of Charges against Dr. James P. Licandro, a licensed podiatrist in the State of Iowa, on July 11, 2014. On or about April 30, 2013, licensee performed a biopsy of a lesion on a patient's upper back. In the Settlement Agreement and Final Order, dated November 25, 2014, the licensee denied the allegations contained in the Statement of Charges; but, in order to amicably resolve the matter without proceeding to, and bearing the cost of a hearing, agreed to the terms outlined in the Settlement Agreement. The licensee was cited and warned for practicing outside the scope of the practice of podiatry and paid a civil penalty to the State of Iowa in the amount of $1,000.00. In a Termination Order, dated December 5th, 2014 the licensee satisfied the terms and conditions set forth in the Board’s Order and his Iowa Podiatry License was returned to its full privileges free and clear of all restrictions.
