We are pleased to share the /admin/assets/04.30.25%20Assistive%20Technology%20Awareness%20Day_tcm36-681888.pdfGovernor's Proclamation declaring April 30, 2025 AT Awareness Day in Minnesota.
Assistive technology devices and services are necessary for thousands of people with disabilities, as well as older adults, to foster inclusion, empowerment, and enrichment while supporting independence. Assistive Technology is a right, not a privilege. The Minnesota STAR Program has provided free assistive technology equipment guidance and support for people of all ages with disabilities in the state for over 35 years; as we reflect on the impact made by assistive technology, it makes the current uncertainty surrounding federal funding more unnerving for our community members who would be unable to thrive without these critical services. Assistive Technology Day gives us an opportunity to celebrate the successes and advocate for the future of this vital programming which improves the lives of thousands of Minnesotans and Americans on this and every day.
