STAR has been serving people with disabilities for more than twenty years. Here are a few interesting facts about us:

STAR was established in 1989 under the Technology-Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities Act of 1988, which as also known as the Tech Act. This Act was repealed with the passage of the Assistive Technology Act.

STAR is currently 100% federally funded by the Administration for Community Living (ACL) in accordance with the Assistive Technology Act of 1998, as amended (P.L. 108-364) also known as the Assistive Technology Act of 2004.

STAR is a division of the Minnesota Department of Administration

STAR works collaboratively with partners to increase statewide access to assistive technology through demonstrations, loans and reuse services.
