Join EJBC for a candid, empowering conversation about navigating Human Resources (HR) as Black state employees. Whether you're looking to understand your rights, grow your career, or just better understand how HR works in our state systems — this event is for you.

We’re honored to spotlight Kamaria Kassim, a respected HR leader at the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) and also EJBC’s Executive Sponsor.

Kamaria will be joined by Toni Shobe, Deputy Director of HR for DCYF, and LaNesha Bryant, Director of HR for the MN Office of Higher Education. The panelists bring a wealth of insight on how HR can be both a resource and a lever for systemic change — especially when equity and justice are kept front and center.

Together, we’ll explore:
  • What to know (and ask) when engaging with HR
  • Supportive Practices vs. Missed Opportunities
  • Career pathways and leadership development
  • Making HR Systems Work for You: Building Trust and Accountability Q&A
This is not just an info session — it’s a space for learning, storytelling, and truth-telling.

Please register for the event on December 17th using this link: https://forms.office.com/g/DGEPB2TDGU. Once EJBC receives your registration, you should receive a direct Outlook invitation within 24 hours. Space is limited so sign up today!
