MNclusive invites its members, prospective members, and their families, to join us at the Minnesota Zoo on the evening of Thursday, August 24, 2023!
MNclusive is the inclusive Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) State of Minnesota Employee Resource Group. MNclusive and its members create and maintain a positive, supportive, and welcoming environment for all LGBTQIA+ State of Minnesota Employees by supporting them and by working with state agencies in a variety of ways, including identifying and addressing needs specific to the LGBTQIA+ community. All state employees are eligible to participate in MNclusive.
MNclusive will gather for our meeting inside the Minnesota Zoo at 6:00p.m. in the Target Learning Center. People who have registered may enter the Zoo and may head to the Target Learning Center, following our signs, as early as 4:30 p.m. The meeting agenda includes our monthly membership meeting and remarks from Kat Rohn, the Director of OutFront Minnesota. Any member of the queer legislative caucus who would like to address the group will also be introduced and given time to speak as our honored guest.
As we mentioned previously, food for this event is not being provided by MNclusive or any other state entity. MNclusive members are making arrangements for and covering the cost of food for this event. There is a suggested donation of $25 per person, but please note you are not required to make a donation. Employee donations are being managed by Alicia Cordes-Mayo, through Venmo. Any donations that exceed the cost of food will be donated to OutFront Minnesota Community Services in support of their crisis line, anti-violence program, legal advocacy, youth and schools work, and community education efforts. We are not allowed to offer the cash bar as previously intended, but non-alcoholic drinks will still be available for purchase.
MNclusive members will receive a registration link soon. People who are not members should email ERG.MNclusive@state.mn.us to let us know they are interested in joining MNclusive and to receive a link to register for the event. We are asking that registrations be made by August 10, if possible, to ensure an accurate headcount.
