This website provides a single entry point to State of Minnesota grant opportunities.
Grant seekers can search for grant opportunities by state agency or by subject area. In some cases you will be directed to the agency website for more information.
Please read grant announcements carefully as some state grant opportunities are only open to certain types of organizations, such as units of government.
Information about managing state grants, including the appropriate use of state grant funds, can be found on the Office of Grants Management web site: http://mn.gov/admin/government/grants/
Communities with Heritage Preservation Commissions that are Certified Local Governments (CLGs) may apply for matching grants for local historic preservation projects. Funding comes from the federal Historic Preservation Fund, appropriated annually by the U.S. Congress; federal regulations require that the SHPO distribute to CLGs at least 10 percent of its allocation each year. Grants support a wide range of preservation activities such as survey and evaluations, designation of historic properties, education, and preservation planning. Scholarships are also made available periodically for CLG staff and commissioners to attend trainings offered through the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions, Main Street America and the Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office.”
