Individual Falsely Identifying as State Employee

An organization in Anoka County reported that an individual entered their site, “flashed” what appeared to be a badge, and identified herself as “with the state.” The individual then requested to inspect inventory and paperwork. No paperwork or inventory was given or shown to the individual. At present, this appears to be an isolated incident.

Please remember – if an individual contacts your organization or enters a site identifying themselves as state employee, always request identification. All Gambling Control Board employees are issued state photo identification credentials and business cards.

If someone attempts to falsely identify as an employee of the Gambling Control Board notify both the Gambling Control Board (at 651-539-1900) and Law Enforcement immediately.
