LICENSE RENEWAL

Renewal for MN LAMFTs with a June 30, 2025 expiration date is now available

Renewal Fee:  $100.00

•  Renew Online   Log in with your Username & Password.  Use the “Forgot username/Password” link if you do not remember your login credentials. Board staff do not have access to your password.
• If you have never used the Board’s online system, click on “Register to Access Site” (directly under the blue login tab).  This account will be used for all future online activity, so maintain a copy of your login information.  It is recommended to complete online renewal using a laptop or desktop computer (instead of cell phone or tablet) to insure renewal screens format correctly.

• The online renewal system works best with Google Chrome as the selected web browser. If unable to use Google Chrome, please update your browser to the most current version for optimal website performance.
• $50.00 late fee: LAMFT licenses may be renewed between July 1-31, 2025, with payment of a $50.00 late fee. To avoid the late fee, the LAMFT license must be renewed by midnight June 30, 2025. You are strongly encouraged to renew early online, allowing time for any technical difficulties which may occur.  
  
  
• If you do not intend to renew your license, you must notify the Board in writing via US Mail or email at mft.board@state.mn.us. Absent such notice, the Board will terminate your license for non-renewal effective July 1, 2025. As LAMFT licensure is required of those seeking MN LMFT licensure, expiration of your LAMFT license will result in administrative closure of your LMFT application file.
• LAMFT license renewal is not allowed after July 31, 2025. If you wish to continue to seek MN LMFT licensure after LAMFT license expiration, you must contact the Board for an application for LAMFT license reinstatement.
• NOTE: If your LMFT licensure exam is scheduled for June or July 2025, you may delay renewal of your LAMFT license until after your exam date as proration &/or return of your paid LAMFT annual renewal fee is not possible upon issuance of your LMFT license. 
• NOTE:  LAMFT license renewal card is mailed to the address you indicate as your “public address;” all other correspondence from the Board office is sent by email or mailed to the address you indicate as your “mailing address.”  
• Successful LAMFT license renewal and verification of the new license expiration date (June 30, 2026) can be verified using the online license lookup tool.
