Request Access (Capitol)

MNCDHH has highlighted important information about visiting the Capitol and accessibility. Nonetheless, we encourage you to visit the official State Capitol pages while planning your visit. These pages may be of particular interest.

Below is information about accessible equipment, available accommodations, and more!

Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs):

Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) are available to check out just before a meeting and must be returned immediately afterward.
  • Senate: Please contact the Sergeant-at-Arms at 651-296-1119 for information regarding where to pick up and return ALDs for Senate events.
  • House: Please contact the House Public Information Services Office for information regarding where to pick up and return ALDs for House events.

Sign language interpreters:

Meetings with a legislator: Please contact the legislator's office at least 24 hours before you want to meet with the legislator. Tell the Legislative Assistant that you want to schedule a meeting with the legislator and that you need a sign language interpreter for the meeting. Include specific information about your interpreting preferences: ASL, Signed English, tactile, etc.

House or Senate floor sessions; committee meetings: Keystone Interpreting Solutions (K!S) is the contracted vendor for the Legislative Coordinating Commission (LCC), who is responsible for covering the cost of interpreting services utilized by members to attend the aforementioned events. Those who are requesting ASL interpreting services will need to contact K!S to submit your request. You can reach K!S via:
For faster processing of requests, K!S offers an easy-to-use online scheduling database for managing services. You'll be able to see profiles of the interpreters assigned to you, along with other helpful information. If this is your first time requesting through us, please fill out the New Customer Request form so that we can get you set up with a Requestor Profile.

K!S cannot guarantee they will be able to find an interpreter for you. To increase the chance that KIS will be able to find an interpreter, please contact KIS at least 24 hours before you plan to go to the floor session or committee meeting.

Give K!S:
  • Your name
  • Your phone/videophone/TTY number (contact info)
  • Date of the committee meeting/floor session
  • Time of the committee meeting/floor session

  • Location of the committee meeting/floor session
