Notice of Request for Proposals for Cultural Outreach Programs
The Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities (GCDD) is pleased to announce the availability of a total of $85,000 in federal funds under provisions of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 (DD Act)(P.L. 106-402) to carry out cultural outreach programs in racial/ethnic minority communities.
Proposals are being sought from any public organization or any private non-profit organization that has 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt status. Proposals must include three components – outreach services; personal support; and a training program that offers best practices information and resources for adults with disabilities and parents of children with developmental disabilities, and introduces participants to the concepts of the Partners in Policymaking® leadership training program.
Two awards will be made to two separate organizations that can demonstrate cultural competency related to a single racial/ethnic minority community.
Funding is available for a one-year period. Continuation funding is dependent upon the availability of federal funds and satisfactory performance of the contractor.
Proposal deadline is March 15, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Please note: The GCDD reserves the right to reject all proposals.
