LoginMN is the State of Minnesota's secure and centralized sign-on service that individuals and businesses use to access State of Minnesota services, programs, and applications. LoginMN allows people to access State of Minnesota services using a single username and password, which eliminates the need to remember multiple usernames and passwords for multiple state agency services.
LoginMN will provide stronger security measures. Minnesota's modern security solution is built to:
Improve fraud detection and uses multi-factor authentication.
Adaptive access that adapts to the users' behaviors and risk factors.
Protect sensitive data from unauthorized access making sure only authenticated and authorized users can access.
Provide individuals and businesses with self-service capabilities, reducing agency work.
The State of Minnesota is moving all online services, such as reserving a campsite or paying taxes, to LoginMN, a more secure and user-friendly system. If the service you're using now requires LoginMN, you'll need to create an account, even if previously had an account for that service. This change helps protect your information and makes it easier to access multiple state services with one login.
Until all current state agency services have been transferred to LoginMN, you will need to use your previous usernames and passwords for those services and use your LoginMN username and password for services that are available.
Yes! You can still access websites and log in to their services. If that agency’s services have moved to LoginMN, and you want to use those services, then you will need to create a LoginMN account.
Yes. You need two accounts – one using your personal email address and a second using your business email address – and you will need to create a unique password for each account.
To create your LoginMN account, follow these steps:
Select the LoginMN button at the top of the page.
Enter the email you would like to use for a LoginMN account and select Continue.
Select Sign up now to create a new LoginMN account.
Select Send verification code. The verification code is only valid for 20 minutes, after which a new verification code will need to be sent.
Do not leave the verification page or the code will not work. If checking your email from a browser, open a new browser or tab and navigate to the inbox of the email address you provided and locate the verification code that was sent from noreply_prod@login.mn.gov.
Enter the verification code on the LoginMN verification code screen and select Verify Code.
Once the code had been verified, select Continue.
If you are prompted that the email ID already exists, you will need to enter the password for your account or reset your password.
Upon successful email verification, you will be prompted to enter profile information.
Create a new password and re-enter it to confirm.
Password must be between 8-64 characters and include three of the following:
Lower case letter
Upper case letter
Number
Symbol
Enter your first and last name in the corresponding fields.
You will be prompted to enter your address information. Complete the fields and select Continue.
You will be prompted to enter your Phone Number for verification, then select Send Code to verify through text or Call Me to verify through a phone call.
Enter the verification code that was sent to you through text or call and select Verify Code.
If you are unsure if you already have a LoginMN account, follow these steps to determine if you have an account:
Select the LoginMN button at the top of the page.
Enter your email address and select Continue.
Enter the password you think you used and select Sign In.
If you receive the message "We can't seem to find your account,” then you will need to create a LoginMN account to continue. Follow the "How do I create a LoginMN account" steps to create an account.
If you receive the message "Your password is incorrect,” then you need to reset your password to continue. Follow the "What do I do if I am unable to log in with my LoginMN account" steps on how to reset your password.
If you registered for a new LoginMN account or need to enter a verification code for password reset, but never received the verification code email, check your junk mail and/or confirm it hasn't been blocked by a spam blocker. A message from noreply_prod@login.mn.gov has been sent with your verification code. The verification code is only valid for 20 minutes, after which a new verification code will need to be requested. Verification codes are only sent to an email address and not sent via text message.
If you do not find the email with the confirmation code, follow the steps on the "How do I create a LoginMN account" or "What if I forgot my password" sections.
Log in and select your initials in the upper right corner of the screen.
Select My Account.
Select the Authentication Factors and choose Change MFA.
You will be prompted to use your current MFA method.
You can then either:
Add another MFA option by using the Add button, or
Change your existing MFA option by choosing the Update button.
If you are using Phone MFA method, choosing the Update button will allow you to change your phone number.
If you want to start using the authenticator app or a security key, then choose the Add button you will be presented with the other MFA methods available to you.
On the LoginMN page under the Already have an account? where you would normally enter your email and password, click on the 'Forgot password' link.
Enter your email address.
Select 'Send verification code.'
Check your email for a message containing a verification code that will be sent from noreply_prod@login.mn.gov. If you don't see it in your inbox, check your spam folder.
Enter the code you received.
Select 'Verify code.' NOTE: Once a code is sent, it is good for five minutes. If you do not enter it within that timeframe, you will need to click on the 'Send new code' link to receive another code for verification.
Enter a new password. NOTE: Your password must meet the password requirements listed on the page. Once a checkmark is next to each requirement, your password has met the requirements.
Re-enter your password to confirm it.
Select 'Continue.' You will be logged in and can click on the My Account Page application link on the Applications page.

Phone number
What information are you reporting? (Please include all items that were changed without your permission.)
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) method you configured your account to use.
Provide additional comments that will help us investigate.
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is an extra layer of security that requires users to provide multiple forms of verifications before gaining access to their accounts, such as a password and a code from an application, like Microsoft Authenticator. Codes can be sent to an authenticator application on your smart phone, texted to you or sent by phone call, or a security key (a physical FIDO token).
MFA ensures you are connecting to state systems securely. We use it to make sure it's really you trying to access your account and private data. Providing multiple forms of proof – that you are who you say you are – helps prevent someone from accessing your account even if they have your username and password.
Even though everyone must select an MFA option, not all state services or applications that use LoginMN require it for access. If you want to be prompted for MFA every time, you can update your settings:
While we aim to support the most current browsers, using an outdated version may result in a less than optimal experience. For the best results, please update your browser regularly.
The State of Minnesota has a digital accessibility standard to ensure an accessible experience for all. The LoginMN platform was tested to ensure users can perceive, understand, navigate, and access information. This includes users having the ability to use assistive technology like screen readers, magnification software, and speech recognition to navigate the components. If information on this website is not accessible to you, please report those issues to MNIT.
