LoginMN is the State of Minnesota's secure and centralized sign-on service that individuals and businesses use to access State of Minnesota services, programs, and applications. LoginMN allows people to access State of Minnesota services using a single username and password, which eliminates the need to remember multiple usernames and passwords for multiple state agency services.
LoginMN will provide stronger security measures. Minnesota's modern security solution is built to:
The State of Minnesota is moving all online services, such as reserving a campsite or paying taxes, to LoginMN, a more secure and user-friendly system. If the service you're using now requires LoginMN, you'll need to create an account, even if previously had an account for that service. This change helps protect your information and makes it easier to access multiple state services with one login.
Until all current state agency services have been transferred to LoginMN, you will need to use your previous usernames and passwords for those services and use your LoginMN username and password for services that are available.
Yes! You can still access websites and log in to their services. If that agency’s services have moved to LoginMN, and you want to use those services, then you will need to create a LoginMN account.
Yes. You need two accounts – one using your personal email address and a second using your business email address – and you will need to create a unique password for each account.
To create your LoginMN account, follow these steps:
If you are unsure if you already have a LoginMN account, follow these steps to determine if you have an account:
If you registered for a new LoginMN account or need to enter a verification code for password reset, but never received the verification code email, check your junk mail and/or confirm it hasn't been blocked by a spam blocker. A message from noreply_prod@login.mn.gov has been sent with your verification code. The verification code is only valid for 20 minutes, after which a new verification code will need to be requested. Verification codes are only sent to an email address and not sent via text message.
If you do not find the email with the confirmation code, follow the steps on the "How do I create a LoginMN account" or "What if I forgot my password" sections.
If you have forgotten your password or want to reset it, complete the following steps:
If any change has been made to your LoginMN account without your permission, send an email to: support_loginMN.mnit@state.mn.us. Include the following when reporting:
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is an extra layer of security that requires users to provide multiple forms of verifications before gaining access to their accounts, such as a password and a code from an application, like Microsoft Authenticator. Codes can be sent to an authenticator application on your smart phone, texted to you or sent by phone call, or a security key (a physical FIDO token).
MFA ensures you are connecting to state systems securely. We use it to make sure it's really you trying to access your account and private data. Providing multiple forms of proof – that you are who you say you are – helps prevent someone from accessing your account even if they have your username and password.
Even though everyone must select an MFA option, not all state services or applications that use LoginMN require it for access. If you want to be prompted for MFA every time, you can update your settings:
