Most major browsers, including Google Chrome,
enable access to web-based captioning tools

You access these tools via your web browser. Most of them allow you to use any platform (Apple's Mac or Windows PC) and any browser:

You need to do all your work online and save your progress on their website. (A few don't allow you to save and come back later.)

When you're done, you implement the captions either by using a specific URL that they provide or by downloading a file for you to upload with your video.

This approach has numerous advantages and disadvantages, some more obvious than others. Let's take a look.
