DocSoft
DocSoft is a specialized appliance that generates automatic captions. Unlike YouTube, it is a hardware and software solution that you buy and install within your enterprise. The advantage of DocSoft is that you can caption any web video, not just those uploaded to YouTube.
As in YouTube, the quality of captions depend greatly on the audio quality, the speaker's voice, and other similar audio elements. Even if the captions are not perfect, as with YouTube, it may provide a useful starting point for faster transcription and captioning.
The tradeoff is that, as an enterprise-level system it requires a significant financial investment.
It is possible that if one state agency buys the technology, other agencies can also use it, thereby sharing the costs and benefits.
