Vendor Acquisition Process

If you haven't studied Module 2, you may want to do so, as it provides you with an understanding of the captioning process that may be useful when working with a vendor.

Two people shaking hands

Acquiring a captioning service provider is similar to any other vendor acquisition process. First you have to define what you need, what you will be providing, and what you want the vendor to do. Then you should contact several vendors to compare their offerings in order to select the one that best fits your needs. The following screens will outline each step in detail.

  1. Conducting Your Needs Assessment
  2. Delivering Your Product
  3. Defining Your Request
  4. Researching Potential Vendors

After you've received the captions, typically as a file, you have to make sure they work!
