Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED. United Way of Hastings builds partnerships and brings together people and resources to tackle complex issues and improve the lives of people in our community. Together, we drive sustainable, positive change and create long-term impact.

Our major initiatives include:

• Food 4 Kids – The program provides weekend meal bags to students in the Hastings school district who have been identified by school staff as needing extra food over the weekends.
• Community in School – Through a partnership with Hastings Public Schools, the initiative focuses on support students in the community to stay in school and achieve their full potential. It includes service-learning projects, social and emotional support groups, homework support groups, and a mentoring program.
• Helping Kids Succeed – The program works to build a support system, or web of support, for children and teens in the community. It helps young people develop resilience, confidence, and the skills needed to overcome adversity.

Gift Examples

• $5 a week can provide granola bars for after school care kids in Hastings
• $10 a week can provide several items for our basic needs closet for Hastings students
• $20 a week can provide 5 Hastings students with our Food 4 kids weekend meal kits
