“I really care about the future of Medicaid. My father had type 2 diabetes and congestive heart failure, and Medicaid paid for his long-term care and all of his health care at the end of his life.
“The cost of long-term care is so enormous and was far beyond what any of us would have been able to pay out of pocket … We would not have been able to care for him and he wouldn't have been able to get the care he needed without Medicaid.”
I also really care about Medicaid because when I had just graduated from high school, my parents didn't have health insurance, and so I didn't either. I was able to access reproductive health care and primary care because Medicaid paid for it.”
