Minnesota Power, in partnership with Manitoba Hydro, proposes to construct a 500 kV transmission line from the International border that would terminate at the Blackberry Substation in Itasca County (spanning an estimated 235 to 270 miles).  Construction of the line is anticipated to begin in June, 2016 and take approximately 48 months to complete, with a projected in-service date of June 1, 2020.
