Project Summary

Pleasant Valley Wind, LLC proposed to construct and operate a 301 megawatt (MW) Large Wind Energy Conversion System (LWECS) in southern Dodge and northern Mower county in southeastern Minnesota. 

The proposed project is a large energy facility and requires a site permit and a certificate of need (CN) from the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. Pleasant Valley Wind, LLC applied to the Commission for these approvals. The site permit and CN were issued to Pleasant Valley Wind, LLC on October 27, 2010. 

Subsequently, the site permit was amended twice -- once to provide more time for negotiation of a power purchase agreement and to construct the project, and then again to reduce the size of the project to 200 MW.  The project began operation as a 200 MW wind farm in 2015.
