Tribal, county, state and federal officials are invited to collaborate on ways to improve the lives of Minnesota’s Indian children. Currently, Indian children are much more likely than other Minnesota children to live in poverty, be removed from their homes, and suffer from prenatal drug exposure.
The future of Indian children, families and communities is at stake.

Closing the Achievement Gap: Culturally-Responsive Education Summit October 15th, 2014 in Mahnomen, MN
The Minnesota Department of Education and the Midwest Comprehensive Center are co-hosting this summit to address American Indian education issues in the state of Minnesota. Participants will have an opportunity to interact with nationally renowned researchers and local practitioners. The event will take place on the first day of the 30th Annual Minnesota Indian Education (MIEA) Conference in Mahnomen, Minnesota. See below for more information on the MIEA Conference
Registration for "Closing the Achievement Gap: Culturally-Responsive Education" is available at www.mn-indianed.org. Please register no later than October 10th, 2014. There is no registration fee for the summit. However, registering for the summit does not register you for the MIEA conference.
