  • Governor Issues Executive Order to Continue Olmstead Sub-Cabinet
    January 28, 2015 - ST. PAUL, MN – Today, Governor Mark Dayton signed Executive Order 15-03, continuing a Sub-Cabinet to implement a comprehensive Olmstead Plan for Minnesota. The state’s Olmstead Plan will support the freedom of choice and opportunity to live, work and participate in the most inclusive setting for individuals with disabilities. Executive Order 15-03 will continue the Olmstead Sub-Cabinet, which was originally created by Executive Order 13-01.
  • Governor Appoints John Tuma to Minnesota Public Utilities Commission
    January 28, 2015 - ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Mark Dayton today announced his appointment of John Tuma to serve a six year term on the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC). Mr. Tuma will be replacing Mr. David Boyd, his term will be effective on February 2, 2015.
  • Commission on Judicial Selection Announces Vacancy in the Second Judicial District
    January 28, 2015 - ST. PAUL, MN –The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today that a judgeship vacancy is occurring in Minnesota’s Second Judicial District Court. This vacancy was created upon the retirement of the Honorable John B. Van de North, Jr., and will be chambered at St. Paul in Ramsey County.
  • Governor Dayton Signs Flood and Disaster Relief Bill
    January 27, 2015 - ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Mark Dayton today signed legislation (Chapter 2, SF 1) that provides $17.3 million in flood and disaster relief for Minnesotans. Last summer, 37 counties and 3 tribal governments were declared a major disaster by President Obama following severe flooding. Three counties were not included in the President’s declaration, but did qualify for help from a new state public assistance program.

    January 24, 2015 - ST. PAUL, MN – Governor Mark Dayton today signed legislation (Chapter 1, HF 6) that will simplify tax filing and provide $20 million in immediate tax savings to more than 200,000 middle-income Minnesotans. The tax conformity bill – which moved quickly through the Legislature and received broad, bipartisan support – was enacted in time for the state to implement the changes with minimal disruption to Minnesota taxpayers.

PAUL, MN – Fifty years after declaring a pre-Med major in college, Governor Mark Dayton today announced a major new investment in the University of Minnesota Medical School that would restore the School to national prominence and train the next generation of world-class medical professionals right here in Minnesota.
