Do you need unemployment benefits again?

If you have not requested benefit payments for a while, you can still use your online account. See here for more information

Unsure of your password? Learn how to reset it. If you enter the wrong password too many times, you will be locked
out of your account.
For security reasons, the only way to have your account unlocked is to call our Customer Service
Center. Staff cannot reset your password by phone; you will have to wait for us to send you a temporary password in the mail.


The U.S. Department of Labor Office of Inspector General has discovered a scam where scammers are sending emails to trick people into giving them their personal information. They will steal your passwords, account numbers, and/or Social Security numbers. View Fraud Alert.

The Minnesota Unemployment Insurance Program will not ask you to log on to our system with your email account. 

During the application, you will create a password for your account. Your password and Social Security number:

  • Allow you to securely access your benefit account, request payments, check your remaining balance, maintain your contact information.
  • Keep your data private from unauthorized users.
  • Serves as an electronic signature - you are legally responsible for all activity that takes place in your account using your password.
