Nate Freeman is a graduate of Whitman College and Yale Law School. He served as a law clerk on the United States District Court for the District of Utah for the Honorable Tena Campbell and the Honorable Robert J. Shelby before clerking on the Constitutional Court of South Africa for Justice Edwin Cameron. After cycling 7,500 miles from Cairo to Cape Town, Nate worked as a legal consultant for the Human Rights Awareness and Promotion Forum in Kampala, Uganda. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota and at Cornell College, where he teaches classes on LGBTQ rights and constitutional law.
Nate is licensed to practice law in Minnesota and joined the court in 2021.
