a line of Minnesota transmission towers

Northland Reliability Project

This project includes the installation of an approximately 180-mile double circuit 345kV transmission line from the existing Iron Range Substation to the existing Benton Country Substation, to the new Big Oaks substation. There will also be voltage support (capacitor bank) at the midpoint of the line. Most of this project will be proposed to run next to existing transmission corridors. The actions of the Commission have now determined the scope and accepted the application as complete.
