Will Seuffert was selected by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission to serve as Executive Secretary starting January 30, 2020. Will has spent his career in public service.
From 2013-2020, Will served as the Executive Director of the Environmental Quality Board (EQB). The EQB is made up of nine state agency heads and eight citizen members, representing each of Minnesota’s eight congressional districts. The Board oversees the state’s Environmental Review program, leads interagency work, and supports public engagement on priority environmental issues.
Before joining the EQB in 2013, he served as a Senior Policy Advisor to Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton, working closely with the cabinet agencies and legislators involved in energy, environment, and agriculture issues.
Prior to that, Will spent five years as staff at the Minnesota State Senate; as a Legislative Assistant and then as a Committee Administrator for the Minnesota Senate Energy, Utilities, Technology and Communications Committee.
Seuffert holds a master’s degree in international peace and conflict resolution from American University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Eckerd College. He and his wife, Alice Seuffert have two children.
